Since 1978, investors have chosen Savola for our strong performance and specialist market knowledge. And it is no different today. In 2015 alone, the company generated net income of SAR 1.79 billion and earnings per share of SAR 3.36.
Our retail investments, managed through the Savola Retail company, now include 498 grocery stores serving 120 million customers and the second-largest delivery fleet in Saudi Arabia. 2015 brought a 44% increase in outlet numbers and a 14% rise in Panda own-brand sales.
Looking to our food investments, Savola Foods products are currently stocked in 30 countries and we are proud to say that many of them are market leaders in their category. We are building on our established edible oil, sugar, ghee and pasta products by expanding into higher-value items. To take one example, we launched a kids’ pasta range under the Italiano brand in 2015.
Aside from our managed investments, we also generate profits through our portfolio of non-managed strategic investments. Stakes in companies such as Almarai, Herfy and Kinan enable us to diversify our assets, mitigate risk and maximize profits for investors and shareholders.
