Description:
In The Savola Group’s Bridge for Service Learning project students learn and develop through thoughtfully organized service that is conduced in and meets the needs of a community; helps foster civic responsibility; is integrated into and enhances the academic curriculum of the students enrolled; and includes structured time for students to reflect on the service experience.
Objectives:
To add a new dimension to community development
To connect academic learning to projects in the community
To create experiential learning through interaction with relevant management of select organizations
To empower the students with a sense of civic duty that will last a lifetime
Methodology:
Savola will hire any instructor who will be participating in the Service Learning Program as a part-time consultant for the duration of at least one academic year. The instructor will be responsible to coordinate between the contracted student(s) and Savola. Savola will evaluate the work of the students at the end of the semester and provide the instructor with the results of the evaluation.
Partnership:
The partnership will be between The Savola Group and any institution of higher education.
