Performance Summary Review and Financial Analysis:
- Revenues amounted to SR 25.2 billion, an increase of 19.8% versus last year.
- The consolidated net income amounted to SR 1.2 Billion, an increase of 35.6% compare to last year SR 886.7 Million.
- The Group has recorded its highest ever net income for the year 2011 (before capital gain & exceptional items) reached SR 1.08 Billion, which is 15.8% higher than SR 933 Million achieved during last year
- Operating profit amounted to SR 1.8 Billion, an increase of 20% compared to last year SR 1.5 Billion.
- Earnings per share (EPS) is SR 2.40, compared to SR 1.77 for last year.
- Gross profit amounted to SR 3.97 Billion, an increase of 16.1% compared to the same period last year SR 3.42 Billion.
- Savola Sudan net profit reached SR 60 million, an increase of 225% versus last year
- Afia International Algeria continued its rapid growth moved from a loss of SR 37.5 million in 2010 to a profit of SR 23.5 million in 2011.
- Plastics sector revenues exceed SR 1 billion
- The Group distributes cash dividends of SR 650 million to its shareholders for the year 2011.
2011 Major Highlights:
- The Group continued its strategic direction, which aims at placing more focus on its core businesses and gradually converted into to a successful financial holding company.
- The Group acquired all capital shares of Al-Malika and Al-Farasha companies in Egypt specialized in pasta.
- The group sold two lands located in Riyadh & Jeddah and achieving SR 153 Million as capital gain recorded in 2011 results. Also signed a contract to sell its entire stake equal to (80%) in the land located in Al-Madina Al-Munawarrah city to with Knowledge Economic City Company at a total value of SR 631.3 million. The Group is expected to realize a capital gain of SR 231.4 million out of this deal during the year 2012.
- The Group increased the share capital of "Savola Foods Company" from SR. 500 million to SR. 2.2 billion.
- The Savola Turkey, has successfully entered the local olive oil market with the expansion of Yudum Umbrella brand which reached an outstanding 15% market share of the retail olive oil market in its first full year.
- United Sugar company has entered into Sweetener Category for the first time.
- Azizia Panda United launches additional 20 stores during the year 2011 bringing its total stores (Super & Hyper markets) to 131 In Saudi Arabia.
- The Group ranked number One in Saudi Arabia in governance and transparency and the second in the Arab world, according to the results of the study conducted by Standard & Poor's (S&P), Hawkamah Institute and IFC and published in early February 2011.
- The Savola Group continued to implement a range of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programs during the year 2011. Key projects in the CSR are : The Savola Center for Empowering People with Disabilities (Makeen), Handicraft initiative, Injaz Program, Al-Madina Institute of Leadership & Entrepreneurship (MILE) and Leave The Change for Them program by Panda store.
- Conduct annual CG compliance Assessment by an independent audit firm to ensure the Group compliance with CMA CG regulations.
